I just wanted to take a minute and thank-you all for your amazingly kind, sweet and thoughtful words you sent me. I just got them in the mail today and of course I cried like a baby ;) . I can't tell you how much I appreciate your words and prayers and encouragement over the last few weeks with my dad going into the hospital and ultimately going home to God. And Cathy, the poem, it was perfect. I couldn't get past the 2nd paragraph without sobbing. You should post that on here so everyone can see it.

I love my "imaginary" friends so dearly, and am so thankful that I have you to turn to in my time of joy and my time of sadness.

Praying for a beautiful holiday season for all of you.

Love to you all,
Karen

I see the countless Christmas trees
Around the world below,
With tiny lights like heaven's stars
Reflecting in the snow.

The sight is so spectacular
Please wipe away that tear
For I'm spending Christmas
With Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs
That people hold so dear
But earthly music can't compare
With the Christmas choir up here.

I have no words to tell you
The joy their voices bring
For it's beyond description
To hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me,
Trust God and have no fear
For I'm spending Christmas
With Jesus Christ this year.

I can't tell you of the splendor
Or the peace here in this place.
Can you imagine Christmas
With our Savior, face to face?

May God uplift your spirit
As I tell Him of your love
Then pray for one another
As you lift your eyes above.

So let your hearts be joyful
And let your spirits sing
For I'm spending Christmas in Heaven
And I'm walking with the king!

I took these today, he's such a ham! Please ignore the the spagetti sauce stain on this pj's. I declared it jammies day until about 3pm!! :) We did these after lunch.

The first one, I've taught him an alternative to "so big" :)

And the second one didn't come out quite as well as I would have liked, but you get the idea :)

This has been long time in the making. My BIL finally finished our front porch last week, and I LOVE it. I spent most of this afternoon outside enjoying it. It completely changed the look of the outside of our house. Here are some pictures:

This is what it looked like before it started (minus the flamigos in the yard!)
flamingo'd

The framing is started:

Then, there was a whole lot of nothing being done b/c of some ridiculous red tape.

And then there is today:

and to the west:

and this is me enjoying my new rockers, given to us by our BIL for all the trouble he gave us during the project! 8)

It's so amazing. It could easily be 2 new rooms. It's the length of the house and 10 feet out. When I went past the front of the house after work on Friday, I almost didn't recognize it! We are blessed to live where we do, and even more blessed to have such sweet parisioners to pay for such a beautiful addition.

Thanks for looking :)

This past weekend we went to our friend's vacation home in the Pocono's. This place is absolutely beautiful. It's in the middle of nowhere (but yet in a small neighborhood, it's hard to explain). We so needed the weekend away from life in general. Our friend, Linda, loves to cook, so there was not usually more than hour in between servings of snacks/meals ;) The only real bummer about the weekend was that is was really chilly up there. We had grand plans to spend a lot of time on their boat at the lake, but it was so cold, we couldn't get out there until Sunday afternoon. Even then we were all in sweatshirts and jeans! Jason had a great time though. He got a few bumps and bruises on his head from falling into various pieces of furniture, but he shook it off and kept on going! Here are some pictures, and the video at the end (I don't know how to edit!) will introduce you to Billy and Linda, our hosts with the mosts. :)

It's so unbelievable to me that we did this, but we got Jason his first pair of walking shoes. We went to the outlets to the Stride-Rite (great deals!!) and left with 2 pairs of shoes for under $40 :) We forgot the camera but had Scott's cell phone, so here are some super grainy pictures and a video :)
